Soroban math cource:
The soroban is an abacus developed in Japan. It is derived from the ancient Chinese suanpan, imported to Japan in the 14th century.
- The soroban is composed of an odd number of columns or rods, each having beads: one separate bead having a value of five, called go-dama and four beads each having a value of one. Each set of beads of each rod is divided by a bar known as a reckoning bar.The number and size of beads in each rod make a standard-sized 13-rod soroban much less bulky than a standard-sized suanpan of similar expressive power.
- The soroban uses a decimal system, where each of the rods can represent a single digit from 0 to 9. By moving beads towards the reckoning bar, they are put in the “on” position; i.e., they assume value. For the “five bead” this means it is moved downwards, while “one beads” are moved upwards. In this manner,all digits from 0 to 9 can be represented by different configurations of beads.
Soroban Program – First Part -:
- The program is a mental development program that is aimed at children aged 6 to 16 years.
- Soroban promotes children’s skills through mental arithmetic.
- Classes take place twice a week (each lesson last for one hour).
- The program consists of 6 levels, each level usually lasting 5 to 7 weeks.
- The great benefits of the program will be felt after the second level (3 months).
- By making sure that your child does the math using the abacus and practices at least 10 minutes a day.
- Our method does not contradict the school method, on the contrary, it helps the child to visualize the numbers better and to do complicated calculations quickly and without tools.
- A learning group usually has a maximum of (5-6 students in the office), (5-6 students online).

- Level 4: subtraction process of number 10 complement
